Birthday Blog Candy

*****Blog Candy Is Now Closed*****
Thank you to everyone who entered and good luck.I'll be back tomorrow to announce the winner.

As today is my birthday I've decided to offer some blog candy.I know vintage and shabby chic are popular in cardmaking,so I've put in goodies that are suitable for this style.I meant to have this up on my blog a few weeks ago and make the draw today,so instead I'll start it today and let it run until the 8th of September when I'll make the draw.

Included in the candy is:
1 x set of Darkroom Door rubber stamps (Melody)
1 x K&Co Paper Pad (Ancestry)
5 x Sheets of Panduro Paper
1x Martha Stewart Edge Punch (Scallop Dot)
2x Rhonna Farrer Swirl Stamps
1x Tin of Prima Forever Flowers Pink Hydrangeas
1x Pack of Blue Flowers
1x Tim Holtz Ranger Distress Ink (Old Paper)
5x Sheets Of Vintage Glittered Rub On Pictures
1x Ranger Ice Stickles (Crystal Ice)
1x Deco Art Glamour Dust (Crystal)
1x Pack Kanban Diamonds & Pearls
1x Pack Metal Filigree Accents
9x Bunches of Roses
3x Lengths of Lace
A selection of Ribbon Bows
I also might have another Gorjuss little surprise to add to it too if I can.

**Edited** Included is a 16"x20" print of Heather and Her Thistle by the Gorjuss lady herself Suzanne Woolcott.I had ordered a canvas wrap of the image and they sent the print instead. So after receiving my canvas I was told I could keep the print too,so I have to thank them very much for being so kind.
This is the little lady included.

To be eligible I'd like you to link to it and to leave me a comment on what your favourite rock song is.It's that simple.I'll hopefully try and pin this to the top if I can get it to work...lol

Card For Amy

My matey Stu asked me to make a card for his friend's little girls 1st birthday. He chose the Gorjuss girl image himself from my many...lol.I have to thank him for taking the picture too as I posted it off to him without taking any myself....dooohhh.That wasn't the first time either.....lol.
It's based on the Sugar Bowl sketch from a week or so ago,but as usual I didn't get it uploaded on time.Must try to get more organised.(hahaha) I also made a matching box to go with it.

Image - Gorjuss Girl Little Miss Attitude coloured with Copic Markers
Cardstock - Bazzill
Papers - All Doodlebug (apart from yellow bit under the name which is Imaginisce)
Letters and Rubons - Doodlebug

On the subject of Gorjuss girls.I ordered a Gorjuss girl canvas wrap which was to be a present from my mum for my birthday. It arrived today, but it was only a print, not a canvas.I was so looking forward to it too.I've had to email them about it,so will have to wait until I hear from them.Fingers crossed it all gets sorted soon.

**Update on Canvas***
Gorjuss girl canvas arrived safe and well this afternoon.Phewwwww

Two Cards Received

Just thought I'd share these two cards with you.One was for Louis from Kath's gorgeous crafty chum Buddy along with a parcel with some pencils and sweets in it.Needless to say the sweets didn't last long enough to photograph.

Next is a gorgeous Post It Note holder I got from my lovely friend Tina along with a little notecard and all in a beautiful matching box.

The pictures don't do them justice even though I treated myself to a new camera. After being undecided for months I finally went for the Canon EOS 450D.Not sure my cards will improve but hopefully the pictures will.....lol.Just need to get myself to some photography classes and learn how to use it...hehe.
I'm also in the process of getting some blog candy together as it's my birthday next week.I had hoped to have it all organised sooner than this, but as usual I'm at the coos tail.Louis went back to school today so I might get some time back for crafting. For now I better scoot as I've got a Body Pump class shortly.

Back From My Hols

Hi folks I'm back from my hols and been busy painting. Not the arty type. The roller and emulsion type.I'm up to my eyes in it and still got a bit to do.Haven't been doing much crafty wise but have a few cards I can share.I spent a fair few ££££ on holiday on crafty stuff as I visited Funkykits shop in Elgin (Papercrafts Boutique) and the lovely Simply Create in Alford, where I met up with my fabby bloggy buddy Kath again. We had a great crafty gab with Jacqui the owner of Simply Create. It was a fantastic afternoon and was over way too soon. This is the card I made for Kath.I know she loves Penny Black images and MME Bloom and Grow papers so used both on the card.

Image - Penny Black Hanging On (Discontinued I think)coloured with Copics
Cardstock - Bazzill
Papers - MME Bloom And Grow
Sentiment - Papermania
Punches - EK Success Flower
Brads - Papermania Pearl and MME Bloom And Grow
Leaves - From My Local Florist Wholesaler (they were white and I coloured them with copics)

I also made a treat bag for Buddy but forgot to take a picture of it.

I also want to thank Sharon for a lovely blog award she left for me while I was on holiday.Thank you so much Sharon I really appreciate it.
I'm supposed to pass this on to some bloggy buddies, but most will have it so I'm going to nominate only one blog. It's for a lady who has just started off her blog and is a very special friend of mine.We met through the Docrafts forum. She's also just landed a DT position with Stampin Chic and no one deserves it more.So this award is going to Tina at Rainbird's Ramblings.Pop over and give her a big bloggy welcome and see her fabulous cards.

I'll hopefully get some blog hopping done tonight, well at least a start of it and catch up with all your lovely crafty creations.I've missed seeing them all.

A Tad Late......

Well I had originally planned to enter this for a Friday Sketcher's Challenge a few weeks back but didn't manage to get it uploaded in time.Better late than never though,so here it is.I've used the lovely Miss Anya stamp and coloured her with Copic Markers. The papers are the delish Bo Bunny.

Papers - Bo Bunny

Not sure how much crafting I'll get done this week as we're off on holiday on Saturday to Lossiemouth for a week and have got lots to get done.Hopefully I'll manage to get something uploaded before then though.
I thought you might like to hear this little story.I took Louis to the Art Gallery and Museum in Glasgow last week as it was raining and we had a great time looking round it all,he especially loves the spitfire that hangs inside. We happened to go into the Charles Rennie Mackintosh room which has his lovely wall hangings and furniture on show.Louis was having a good look at it,then suddenly piped up in a loud voice. Mummy....did they get those from Homebase......rofl.Thank goodness none of the museum curators were around, they'd have been affronted at him comparing their £250k chairs to Hombase.Me ....I was pmsl.

At Last A Card

Sorry folks for not being around much lately but between blogger problems and real life getting in the way I've just not had time to craft or do much blogging to be honest.I've removed my playlist for now and fingers crossed it seems ok.The last few weeks of the school holiday have just gone by in a flash.Usually I'm a homebird but with my concerts,a hen night,a birthday party, and Louis also went to a couple of birthday parties,I've not had much time to think let alone craft.Keeping a 5 year old occupied all day is very tiring...lol and he gets to stay up a bit later because it's the holidays,so by time he goes to bed,I'm not that far behind him as I'm shattered...lol.Old age etc etc.I've also been put on antihistamine tablets which are supposed to be non drowsy, but I'm absolutely shattered on them too.So a mix of it all and I'm done in.
I did have some commissions to do too but can't share them just now apart from one. They were a real labour of love and each one took days to do because I didn't have much crafty time and
because they were to be special cards. One was a wedding card for the bride from her mum,one was an anniversary card for my pal Stu to give to his friends and the other was a silver wedding anniversary card for a girl I go to Body Combat and Body Pump with from me.They are all along a similar line so I'm sure you'll get the idea...lol.

Apologies

Apologies for not being around to visit everyone, but my blog isn't playing ball just now.The playlists are having problems and it's taking ages for the blog to load. It's soooooo slow and I just don't have the time just now to faff about. It seems to be a known problem and resolves itself.I've got a challenge card here waiting to upload but it's just too slow at the moment,so I've given up trying for now.
I'm off to see ACDC tomorrow at Hampden which should be fantastic, but a bit hot hot hot I think. So plenty of sun cream, water and of course some chocolate to keep the blood sugar levels up...lol.
Hopefully the blog will be back working properly and I can play catch up with everyone. It's taken me ages just to get this post up...grrrrrrr.

Final Teacher's Card

This is the last card for Louis teachers. This one is for his class teacher who is retiring.I've used a Sugar Nellie Home Grown stamp of the little boy artist but didn't ink up the handprints on the board.I decided to write the sentiment on there instead. The little boy is so like Louis with his curls....lol.I'm glad to get them all finished.

A Blonde A Brunette And A Redhead for Friday Sketchers 57

Well I already had these 3 cards made up for Louis teachers, they were just missing the sentiments and noticed they fitted in with the Friday Sketchers sketch if I flipped it,so I hope that's allowed.I made them all the same layout and just coloured them differently. One is a blonde, one a brunette and one a redhead, like the 3 teachers....lol.And yes....those flowers again.I promise I'll give them a miss for a while.

Busy busy busy

Sorry everyone for not visiting your lovely blogs over the last week, but it's been a busy week with one thing and another.I'm beginning to think I'll meet myself coming back...lol.
I've not got any cards to show you just now although I do have a few in various stages of completion, mainly for Louis to give to his teachers. He has a few due to his special needs in school.Hopefully I'll get them finished and pop them on.
Last night I went to see Tesla in concert (who I hear you ask?)...lol.Well they're an 80's American rock band so probably all too young to know them (unlike me!) and my ears are still ringing. So for anyone who is remotely interested here's a song off their new album (it's a ballad).Pause the other music first or you'll get one mighty noise.

I'll try and start getting round all my lovely bloggy buddies tonight and try and catch up,with a break to watch The Big Bang Theory of course,as it's the last in the series.

Cute Card Thursday - Challenge 64 Quotations

I decided to make this Criss Cross Card using the tutorial HERE on SCS.After making up the size stated I decided it was a bit on the small side so added and extra inch on to the measurements.I've coloured Miss Anya in with my Copic markers. The papers are from The Sweet Shoppe and called Persimmon. You may notice the are very similar to MME Bloom & Grow and are designed by the same person. So I can keep my MME papers to stroke and just print out these to use...lol.I've used my EK Success Flower punch to punch the flowers from the same papers....and yes I've crumpled them again (you'll probably see me doing this loads and will get fed up seeing them!)The borders are a Sizzix die from the Hello Kitty range.I decided to use this lovely quote on my card and so it fitted in perfectly with the Cute Card Thursday Challenge which was quotations.

Cardstock - SU Sage Shadow
Papers - Persimmon from The Sweet Shoppe

Well today was a busy day.Louis had his school sports day and I had my last scrapbook class until September. To top it all off we had a power cut about 6pm tonight and the power didn't go back on until just before 11pm.Just as well I was out at my class. No TV or internet as router was off.Felt like my arm was missing not being online...lol

A Simple Birthday Card

This is a simple card I made for a friends birthday. She loves elephants,so I used a Little Claire elephant stamp and coloured it with my Copics.I used my Copic glitter pens to bling up the flowers a bit.The papers are one of my faves Daisy Buckets Little Black Dress.I've kept the card fairly simple (makes a change for me).Just added a bit of black organza ribbon and some little red flowers.

Well I'm off to try and finish a LO for my scrapbook class at Craftology on Monday. This is the last until after the summer.I don't really post them on here as I know most are cardmakers that pop by so I just stick them on my slide show.I really feel like just putting my feet up though as i'm knackered after doing Body Combat...lol,but I better give myself a shake and get it finished.

Mum's Birthday Card & Simon Says Stamp Challenge

Today is my mum's birthday,so as she's a lady of elder years, she wouldn't appreciate a cutesy card really so did a vintage again.I know she loves this style of card so went with it for her birthday card.I made a few Mother's Day cards in a similar style way back in March as some of you may have seen from previous blog posts back then.I really had a ball with the distressing, using my files and inking with my Distress inks, crumpling and tearing and generally getting in a mess.....lol.I'm entering it into the Simon Says Stamp Blog Challenge which is "Let's Craft With Tim" or "inspired by Tim." I'm not sure if mine qualifies as it's only got the sentiment and swirls stamped, but I definitely went wild with the distressing.
I used Stampin' Up designer papers and crumpled them up quite a bit and then opened it back out and inked all the creases with Scattered Straw Distress Ink.I used a recycled piece of corrugated cardboard and cut it to the size of the card which is 8x8 and then tore a hole in the middle and inked the edges with Tea Dye Distress Ink.The image is from a disc of vintage ladies which I printed onto Safmat (again) and applied to some card.I then distressed the edges and again applied Tea Dye.The swirls are Rhonna Farrer Autumn Leaves stamped with Versafine Vintage Sepia. The corner papers are Sandylion music score which I again distressed and inked and stamped the swirls. The sentiment is stamped on recycled packing paper and mounted on card to make it more firm. The letters are American Craft Thickers sponged with both Distress inks and lightly dusted with Ranger Perfect Pearls as are the flowers and butterfly. My mum loved it so I'm happy....lol

Daring Cardmakers Challenge - Weather Theme

***WARNING...you might need shades for this card as it's bright***

I had already coloured this Miss Anya in as I'd received them from the USA last week and had planned on posting it.It just so happened it fitted in nicely with the theme at Daring Cardmakers which was to be weather themed,so I thought I'd enter it for the challenge. The card is very bright colours and I thought the image would look fab with these gorgeous BoBunny Papers. They're again from the Bella Journee range and this collection is Tuscany..I must be getting brave cutting them all up.I've only had them for a year or so...lol.
Sorry for the squiffy photo.I really need to practice more at better shots.

Copic Colour Challenge #15

I managed to get a card made in time for the Copic Colour Challenge this week.Last week I had the image coloured but didn't get time to make up a card with it so was determined to do it this week..This image I had coloured last week but only got round to making up the card last night. These were the colours we were to use.

I used the Gorjuss Girl from set 2 called "Bear Hug". I'm at the "coos tail" with these rubber stamps and also the Miss Anyas.I kept dithering on whether I really liked them or not,so by time I decide they're old news....lol.

Just A Card

No challenge card this time, just a Gorjuss girl I had coloured in.I finally decided to use some papers I've had for quite a while and not wanted to cut up.They're BoBunny Bella Journee Santorini range. That shows how old they are.I bought 3 sets, the others being Tuscany and Eire.So as the papers were vivid red and blue,I coloured this Gorjuss girl in using those colours.I finally used a sizzix die I'd bought a while back to make the branch and flowers. The other bits are die cuts from the same Santorini range.
