A Couple Of Card Commissions

The lovely man I bought my Prismacolors from loved my little Eloise Greengrass card and asked me if I would make two for his little grand daughters as they love fairies. The only stipulation was would I put their names on them and do one blonde and one brunette to match their hair colours.
How could I refuse making cards with this lovely little fairy stamp.

Again it's the Eloise Greengrass stamp from Stamping Bella.
The first card is coloured with Prismas and mounted onto green Bazzill Bling. PP is Glitter Ribbons. Name cut with Cuttlebug Olivia Alphabet from green bling and mounted onto green card with Swiss Dots embossing. Threaded yellow organza ribbon through two eyelets. Flora Doodle flowers with Papermania gem brad in centre.

The second is similar only in a different colour scheme. Again coloured with Prismas and mounted onto purple Bazzill bling.PP is DCWV Pocketful Of Posies. The name and ribbon are all done in the same way as first card.Again I used Flora Doodles but with a pearl brad from The Paper company in the middle.

If anyone is looking for Prismas at a great price. Please let me know and I'll recommend you to Tony.

Well done Kath on your 5000 hits.Well deserved.

Tagged Again x 3

I've been tagged again x 3 by three lovely ladies. Fae (Faery Scrap Tales),Lorraine (Scrap Metals Retreat) and Vicky (Vicky's Collection).
As I've already been tagged twice and answered everything that's of possible interest I'm going to pass this one on. I'm not even sure if there's anyone who hasn't had the tag so I'm tagging anyone who hasn't had the pleasure.

Just Like Mummy...........

This is a photo taken on my 40th birthday last year of Louis and me. I did this page and called it Curls because everyone always comments on Louis' gorgeous curls and then say,he must have gotten them from his mummy. I don't normally scrap pictures of myself as I'm not very photogenic but I thought this was an ok picture for having me in it.
I used Radiant Rain on plain white 12x12 cardstock to give the blue shimmering effect. I cut the swirls with a Sizzix die from blue Bazzill and added little Prima flowers with a blue brad in the centre all along the length of them. The title is cut on the Robo from blue
Bazzill. The photo is matted onto blue Bazzill and I used my Crop-A-Dile to set the eyelets and thread through the blue organza ribbon. The journalling stamp I stamped onto vellum and written in black pen. Two large flowers with large blue brads in the centre. To finish it off I've used a sheet of 12x12 acetate and stamped swirls onto it. I've attached it to the layout with little blue brads.

Sorry about the naff photo. It's not showing the colours off very well,or the shimmer on the card.

And Now For.................

Eloise Greengrass.

Eloise is another fairy from the Chichiboulie range at Stamping Bella.
I've loved colouring this little fairy in.I've used my Prismacolors in two shades of pink. I then restamped her dress on vellum and coloured again with the pale pink colour.I cut it out and used Glamour dust round the edges. I used silicon glue to attach it above her dress. I really love the effect it gives.I used Glamour Dust round her wings too.
She's mounted onto pink Bazzill bling cut
with my Nestabilities. The PP is Disney with some sparkle on the stars.Sentiment is Woodware and stamped onto card embossed with Swiss dots folder. The flower and ribbon is from HOTP and the metal flower embellishment is from The Paper Company. I finally added the little corners which were from Tesco.
I am really pleased with how she turned out,not sure about the rest of the card though. (I don't want to give her away now!)...lol.

Let Me Introduce You To..........

Matilda Muffinbread.

She's one of a few new stamps I received last week from the Chichiboulie range at Stamping Bella.
I got her along with Eloise Greengrass and coloured her in with my Prismacolours. I didn't get a chance to make a card up as I was unwell. I've finally managed to finish the card. I've cut her out with my Nestabilities and mounted her onto the card with 3d foam pads.I've used the Floral Fantasy Cuttlebug embossing folder. The red flower eyelets are from Papermania. White grosgrain ribbon, white bloom with black Papermania gem centre. Woodware
sentiment. Stickles applied to highlight some parts.

Also managed to do another Stamping Bella image. This is Flowahbella from the "Bella" range. I also coloured her with Prismacolors and Stickles to the flowers. She's matted onto octagon scallops cut from my pal Stu's Robo files. The background is just brown card and I scored the gridlines from my Scor-Pal which I thought looked quite effective. Papermania Blooms and jewel brads. Woodware sentiment stamped with Colorbox chalk inkpads (tangerine).

First Of All......

I was tagged again by the lovely Debs (Me-and-Lil G) and have 8 questions to answer.

1. If a movie was being made of your life who would you like to be cast to play yourself? and why?
2. You are spending a whole month on a desert island for charity and you have to choose your favourite celebrity to spend the first two weeks with & your least favourite celebrity to spend the second two weeks with, who would they be & why?
3. What are your three favourite crafting products?
4. If you could invent something to do anything what do you think it would be?

5. What are the last three books that you read?

6. Qvc or create & Craft?

7. Docrafts or Dovecraft or DCWV?

8. What is your claim to fame?

Hmmmm....this needed some thought:

1. If a movie was being made of your life who would you like to be cast to play yourself? and why?
Probably Cher, although better known for her music. She has that Rockchick kinda look and has played some brilliant parts in movies. She was fabulous in Silkwood and Mask.

2. You are spending a whole month on a desert island for charity and you have to choose your favourite celebrity to spend the first two weeks with & your least favourite celebrity to spend the second two weeks with, who would they be & why? The first two weeks with either David Coverdale or Joe Elliott, (or both for a week each! or both for the two weeks!) I'm not fussy...lol . And if you really need to ask who or why, check out the links on my blog to Whitesnake and Def Leppard or just google their names.
The second week would be Alan Carr as I just cannot stand the guy. One of many at the moment but he was first to pop into my mind.He is anything but funny and his voice grates on me. I'd tell him exactly what I thought of him or feed him to the sharks.

3. What are your three favourite crafting products? Craft Robo,Cuttlebug, and blooms of any kind.

4. If you could invent something to do anything what do you think it would be? A bottomless bank account.

5. What are the last three books that you read? Judy Astley - Size Matters, Cathy Kelly - Best Of Friends, Helen Bradley - Layouts For Scrapbooking

6. Qvc or create & Craft? QVC

7. Docrafts or Dovecraft or DCWV? I like products from each of the ranges. So all three

8. What is your claim to fame? Same answer as I gave in a previous tagging. My picture and story were used by Glasgow City Council Department Of Culture And Leisure in an advertising campaign they did. My face was on posters all over Glasgow and on Ad trailers. Louis found it highly amusing seeing mummy's face everywhere.

I've now to pass the tag along. I'm going to choose Vicky, Kerry, Donna,Sharon and last but certainly not least,my now fellow Scot, Emma

For those that have never been tagged it's easy, you just copy & paste the questions twice onto your page, you answer the second set of questions. You then need to make a list on the posting of the five people who you are going to tag. Lastly go onto their blogs and leave a comment to let them know to look at your blog as they have been tagged.

*************************************************************************************

Secondly I've been given this lovely award by the equally lovely Kerry (curlygirlyme) and it has really cheered me up when I've been feeling so sick. I'm so moved by her lovely words.

I'm also passing it back to Kerry for many of the same reasons she sent it to me. Kerry has given me loads of encouragement with both my cards and scrapbook pages. Even after my operation she was there when I had
lost my scrapbooking mojo and always had kind words of encouragement that I'd soon get it back. Also Kerry was one of a few people who knew that I was going into hospital and kept in touch throughout offering her best wishes, get well wishes and support with her lovely emails. Her work is stunning and certainly an inspiration to me.So I hope you're "having a nice day" Kerry...heehee

I'd also like to pass it onto another lovely lady from DoCrafts who I don't think has a blog unfortunately, but who should have. The lovely Tina (RAINBIRD) on DoCrafts who also has a fabulous talent for drawing, making cards and scrapbook pages. Tina also kept in touch with me throughout my being in hospital and afterwards. It really meant a lot to me.

Lastly I'd like to pass it to Emma (elf-creations) who has just moved to Scotland from Gibraltar. We've only really known each other since starting our blogs although I'd read her posts on DoCrafts, but we'd both love to meet up in the future and spend some crafting time together.

The Dreaded Lurgy.....

Or the vomiting bug to be more precise. Both Louis and me have been struck down with it in the last week, hence the lack of posts. Louis is fine now and I'm just starting to feel better. I hate being sick at the best of times but was terrified all the muscles in my tummy that I had the op on were going to burst open. I must have looked a great sight trying to hold them while I said hello into the po. I can laugh now but it was so sore. My tummy muscles felt like they were on fire.
Anyway...enough about that. I've got lots of posts to catch up with, which I will do later today,as I've got a 4 year old anxious to get out and about for now and enjoy the last few days of the holidays.
So I will be back later to catch up and add some cards.....or card....lol

My First 8x8 Card

I thought I'd have a go at making an 8x8 card.I saw the instructions on someone's blog but can't remember where now.If anyone knows please let me know and I'll link to it.
I used pink cardstock to make the basic card. The PP is Papermania double sided card. the butterfly image is a Penny Black one which I mounted onto pink card and scalloped plum coloured Bazzill. The pink and plum border I got bought in Hobbycraft. Flower is a Flora Doodle from Joanna Sheen, with a Papermania pearl brad in the middle and some white pearls behind it. The sentiment was written on my Robo and mounted onto pink card and plum Bazzil. I just need to add some glittery bits and it'll be finished. It's for my MIL's birthday. I just have the small problem of not having an envelope big enough for it! I've bought some A3 paper so will have a go at making one.

Another Arte Y Pico Award

Thanks to Caz and Karen both for the "Arte Y Pico" award again. I really appreciate the award and as I've had it once already I'm going to nominate just a couple as most of the blogs I read have already received it. I'm also awarding it to anyone who hasn't had it,as I think all bloggers are worthy of it.
I award Vikki (Vixx-a-Craftin') and Donna (luvocardz) as they are both new bloggers and anyone else who wants to accept it.
Thank you once again ladies for this award.

Monday 7 April 2008

Hurray....it's here

My Scor-Pal is finally here. I'm fuming though as I had to pay £11.52 customs charges and it was only 40p over the £18 limit, and £8 of that was for the Royal Mail handling fee. I've got to laugh as it was in customs on the 29th of March and that's it just arrived. So much for Royal Mail. It got to the UK faster from the USA than it did from England to Scotland. The girl at the sorting office said customs are clamping down more on charges. They only used to check a small percentage of parcels but are doing much more now,as she's seeing more charges being incurred.
Anyway, that's my moan over......lol. Just got to have a play with it and cheer myself up.

A Gift From A Friend

A very good friend of mine called Stu is a whizz with Autocad and rustled me up some lovely scalloped shapes for my Craft Robo. I'm useless at designing files for the Robo. I've only managed ever to do a couple. These can be scaled to whatever size to suit. Stu has also kindly allowed me to upload them to my blog so I can share them with other Craft Robo users who would like them.So I've made them available to download. Isn't he a star!

You can see a picture of the files and download them here.

Some New Stash Arrived & A Get Well Card

Well I finally got my lovely Flora doodles from Joanna Sheen after taking Royal Mail from Tuesday to deliver them. They were worth the wait though as they are so scrummy and you can never have too many blooms.
I also got a notification that my Scor-Pal was at the depot awaiting collection and had a customs charge to pay. This was delivered at 12.20pm and the depot shut at 12.30pm. Typical! So now I need to wait till Monday to have a play.
Hopefully my Bellas should be here from Canada next week as they've been dispatched too. Don't you just love new stash?

This is a card I made for a lovely lady called Hazel from the DoCrafts forum who went through a big operation on Monday.I hope she likes it. It's the Penny Black elephant again.Coloured with pastel pencils. The backing paper was another freebie.Scallops cut on my Robo. Swiss Dots embossed panel with Hero Arts sentiment stamped onto it.Added some ribbon and a few blooms.

I've Been Tagged

I've been tagged by the lovely Emma (Elf-Creations) so I have to give you seven random facts about myself. (Not that you really want to know!)

1. I'm a naturally curly brunette, but when I was a teenager in the 80's my hair wasn't that long and for years got it permed until I let it grow and realised it was naturally curly. All that money wasted going to hairdressers.

2. I have a tattoo of a red rose with a swirl around it, just above my right ankle.

3. My picture was used for an advertising campaign in Glasgow last year. It was really weird seeing my picture on posters and ad trailers over the city. My only claim to fame!

4. I entered a competition way back in the 70's in a Scottish newspaper and won loads of Bay City Roller goodies. Yes I preferred them to The Osmonds! Tartan jumpers and flares.

5. My wee boy has two middle names. One is Elliott after Joe Elliott the lead singer with Def Leppard. Now you know how much I love rock music. Either that or it was my hormones at the time! He also shares the same birthday as David Coverdale from Whitesnake. I had no control over that though, it was just coincidental!...lol

6. I love old B&W movies and all the old classics.

7. I was a huge Nancy Drew fan when I was younger and still have over 100 of her books and also her DVD's with the Hardy Boys.

Now the boring bit is over I've to pass the tag on.

So I'm going to tag Pickle , Sharon , Debs and Manda
Over to you girls! Have fun!

Another Award

The lovely Sharon (Shari-Anne Happy Crafter) has nominated me for the You Make My Day Award.I'm so honoured to receive this award from another fellow crafter. So a huge Thank You to Sharon.

I now have to nominate another 3 people to receive the award. This is the difficult part as loads of people have already received it and loads are so deserving of it. I've decided to go with a few blogs that I've visited recently that have really shone with their crafting skills and it's not just related to cardmaking or scrapbooking particularly.
First up is Shirley (Create Away). I really love her blog with her fab photography and her lovely little quotes every day. It's a joy to read. Second would be Enfys (Colours Of Enfys) for her lovely silk and beadwork. Thirdly would be Sue (I'm Sue,Playing With Paper) as it's so refreshing to see lots of lovely techniques been used on cardmaking that seem to be missing from a lot of cards these days.
