A Couple Of Cards To Share

Just thought I'd share a couple of cards I made in the last couple of months, I've not done much crafting recently so there's not much to show. The first is an easel card using the Sugar Nellie stamp Flowers and the second is using a digi image from Phindy's Place called big Boots to Fill.
Both are coloured with Copic Markers.

Little Pram

I saw this gorgeous little pram on the very talented Jannhild's blog and thought it looked totally adorable so decided to give it a try. Jannhild got the original instructions HERE.It's made using circle nesties and scallops.I found it a bit fiddly but worth the effort. The little cover inside opens like a little card to write your greetings in.I'll probably stamp something on it to welcome a new baby.

I meant to post this the other day but I had an abcess under a tooth and had been in agony with it.There is no pain worse than toothache.Anyways it's all sorted now.Tooth had to be removed and a course of antiobiotics.
I bought the new Basic Grey Capella papers and absolutely love them,so couldn't wait to make a card with them.I've made the flowers out of the papers too using my circle nesties.

Pink,pink and more pink

Yes another card post from me.It's like a bus, nothing then they all come along at once, and it's NOT one of my cards for the demo weekend. This one I made yesterday. It's very pink and girly which is nothing like me...lol. I used the gorgeous new Papermania Henbury Lane collection. They really are beautiful colours and lots of them are glittered. Both the papers I used were glittered so I went the whole road and glittered anything that sat still long enough, including round the image, the punched branches, the roses and the nestie frame and corner. Bling, bling, bling!!

Summer Ice Cream

Well it's certainly not summer here yet,but I've used this adorable image from Sugar Nellie to make this card. It's another card I made for the demo weekend.Gorgeous MME Quite Contrary papers again.I saw this style of card a while back on a blog but can't remember where. The front of the card has been cut down to half size (not sure if it has a name). Anyway I thought I'd give it a go and was quite pleased with it. Unfortunately my sewing machine threw a hissy fit and I had to finish up hand sewing the card.Sorry about the photos, but it was a really sunny afternoon. Typical!...we moan when it's dull and moan when it's sunny...lol

First Of Demo Cards

Well I should have some cards to post over the next few days.I can finally post my demo day cards. I don't think I've ever made so many cards in such a short space of time.I'll be surprised if my mojo hasn't gone walkabout again.
I'll start with the most popular card from the weekend. It's the lovely Post Box stamp from Sugar Nellie and coloured with Copics and using the scrummy MME Quite Contrary papers.I love the bright fresh colours of this.I used the Martha Stewart Garden Trellis punch and tried the make it look like a little fence at the front of the easel card.I finally got round to using those cute little flower pots I'd bought ages ago and never knew what to use them for. I used distress inks around the outside of the image too.

The lovely embossed border the ribbon is threaded through is a Marianne Creatable.

First Card In 3 Months

Well this is my first attempt at a card since early January. This was for a friends little girls birthday. One of my favourite Gorjuss girl images coloured with Copics and paper pieced. I've just realised I've forgotten to use my white highlighter pen....doooohhhh. The little buttons I also coloured with my copics to match as they were plain white.

I've finished 5 of my projects for the demo weekend and the other 5 are well on their way,so for once I shouldn't be faffing about at the last minute.

Apologies

Hi folks, sorry for not being around for quite a while, but I'd been unwell for a while and I'd also just lost the enthusiasm for doing any crafting. My craft stuff has been packed up since Christmas and I'd only made one card in January.I only just made my first card in all that time last week.I probably won't be posting regularly but will when I have something to show. For that reason as the message above states,I've disabled commenting (at least I hope I have if it worked). I hope you'll still pop by now and again as i'll certainly be visiting and looking at your lovely work.I just felt before too much of my time was getting taken up commenting on blogs.
I've got a demo weekend next weekend at my local craft store Craft World (previously known as Craftology) so have had card samples to make up for that,so can hopefully share them after the demo. I've had 10 lovely Sugar Nellies to play with and colour and gorgeous papers from BoBunny and MME,so that gave me the kick up the backside to get crafting again.I'll be demoing copic markers so please pop by and say hello if you'll be going.
Thanks again

Card For A Special Lady

Sorry I've been MIA for the last week, but I've been really busy what with,Halloween parties, getting my scrapbook class sorted and doing commissioned cards,I've had no time to do much else.I didn't even know I'd won the Sketch Saturday challenge from last week, until I saw the message from Sharon. So thanks Sharon for letting me know.
I also had a card to make for a special lady.I know she's already received the card so I can post it.My good friend and bloggy buddy Kath has her birthday today. So pop over to her fantastic blog and wish her a happy day.Kath makes the most amazing cards. For my card I actually did cut up my beloved Melissa Frances papers.I've stroked them lovingly for a long time, but decided that the time had come to use them.Believe you me,only Kath was worth the cutting...lol.I find them really hard to get here and I just adore them. The image is from a Stampin'Up Hostess Set called Oh,So Lovely.I stamped the background
mesh a few times and then masked the main flower and stamped it a few times at different levels.Coloured with copic markers.I also hand stitched (gasp!) round the edge of the card, after using my Cutter Bee Bug of course to make the holes.

Sketch Saturday

Another challenge with this card.I've used the sketch from Sketch Saturday - Sketch #74.I've used some artistic license with it to fit with my card, but in all follows pretty much the sketch. It's also a first for me as I don't make Halloween cards generally, but saw this image on a blog called Wendy's Digital Doodling and thought it was cute and it was also a free download.

Well I had started out doing this card for one challenge, but it managed to fit the theme in a few so I'm doing a multi challenge card.(Think that's a first for me)I'm usually missing the deadlines...lol.
I've used a Pixie Chick image and coloured her with Copics.(I've had these images for ages) I cut her out and mounted her on my oval nestabilities.

So a big thank you to Kath,Lorraine,Gayle,Judy and her sister,Allison,Ann and my friend Janice for making it such a fantastic day.I also bumped into another fellow blogger a few times on the way round too.Laurane also has her own blog.

My Gorgeous Boy

No card for you today,so instead I thought I'd share a picture of my gorgeous boy Louis. The school photographers were in his school a few weeks ago,on his 6th birthday as it happened..So here's my boy smiling happily.I usually get a moan when I stick the camera in his face. He's sick of me taking photos for my scrapbook pages...lol. Click the picture for a closer look if you want.
Wonder where he gets those curls from.............

Miss Anya

This anya image i've had coloured for a wee while,in fact the whole card has been made up apart from the sentiment.I don't know about anyone else but the sentiment is always the bit I hate doing the most.I don't know why,but it's always the last bit to get done and quite a lot of the time I have cards sitting around just waiting on the sentiment to be put on.
This is a miss anya from the dressy set.I think this is a really pretty image. For some reason I picture her talking with a Southern American drawl.Or maybe that's just because I've been reading the True Blood series of books and watching the show.....lol.
Anyway, enough waffling. She's been coloured with copics and I've used the scrummy Doodlebug papers that I'd been hoarding and looking at for a few months.

Took Louis to see the Pixar movie Up yesterday which he loved (so did I),and tomorrow he starts swimming lessons which he's looking forward too.He just wants to be able to wear goggles and go underwater...lol.I've done a bit of crafting but have been busy with my nose stuck in a book reading.I don't read for ages and then I can't get enough of them.I finished the Twilight series a few weeks ago and watched the movie.I know...way behind everyone else.I'm really enjoying the True Blood series of books though and am now on book 3.Dream Theater were fantastic on sunday night (as were Opeth).Looking forward to Black Stone Cherry on Saturday night.I saw them as support to Def Leppard and Whitesnake a few years ago,but this is them headlining this time.I'm getting such a groupie in my old age...lol

Angel Wishes

Wooohoooo I've managed to do a challenge card with plenty of time to spare instead of missing the deadline, and it's my second card in a couple of days. That must be a record for me...lol.
There's a fab sketch by Tiets over at The Sugar Bowl so I inked up my new Angel Wishes stamp from Sugar Nellie. She's so pretty.I've used my X-cut snowflake punches and layered them up and sprinkled with loads of Glamour Dust and added a Papermania shimmer dot to the centre of each.I love the effect of them both layered.
I've used my Cutter Bee Bug again to do the piercing round the edge and again it's just the single row.I really love this wee tool.I've also embossed the circle with the snowflake embossing folder and sanded it back,it's not showing very well though.I think I need to be using 8x8 cards as I struggle to fit everything on...lol

Card For Mia

I apologise in advance to anyone who doesn't use Twitter as I may sound like I've totally cracked in this post....lol.I use Twitter and I saw a Tweet (well it was a retweet actually) from Rick Allen the drummer from Def Leppard. It was for people to send cards to a little girl in the USA who has Crohn's Disease to cheer her up.How could I refuse the Thundergod's tweet,he's just amazing,an inspiration and from my favourite band of all time.Hence the blog title name. This is the organisation behind the plea if anyone is interested A FiveOh4 Uplifting.
So here's the card I made for Mia.It should be arriving in the USA any day now.I made a matching box for it too but haven't put the picture on.
I used the Gorjuss girl with the little star as children who have to endure lots of hospital time are just that...Little Stars.Although my little boy Louis has special needs he's healthy and never had to be in hospital thankfully.

World Cardmaking Day

Seeing as today is World Cardmaking Day I thought I better try and get a card made to celebrate the fact.I've been a bit uninspired recently and not been making much apart from a few commissions.Anyway, today I decided to just knuckle down and get on with making one.I bought some gorgeous new BoBunny papers from the Flutter Butter range at Craftology. If they don't inspire me nothing will...lol.I also found my EK Success Cutter Bee Bugs that had got buried under a pile of stash and used them for the piercing. They're fabby little tools and so easy to use. They come in single row, double row and zig zag.I'll probably use them now until I'm sick of them...lol.
